Rookie collecting is the practice of focusing on collecting rookie cards, typically the first officially licensed cards of a player, released during their debut season. Rookie cards are often seen as the most desirable and valuable cards for a player, especially if that player goes on to have a successful career. These cards are usually marked with an “RC” logo in modern sets, but older rookies may not have any special label.
