Legends is the seventh Magic: The Gathering set and the third expansion set, released in June 1994. The set contains 310 cards(75 Commons, 114 Uncommons, and 121 Rares).
Introduced in this expansion were the namesake card type Legends. These are unique, one of a kind permanents which represent important figures, objects or places. This included Legendary Lands like Karakas and Pendelhaven. World Enchantments, such as The Abyss, were also introduced in this expansion. New mechanics in the set were: Bands with Other, Poison [counters], and Rampage. It was the first set to contain multicolored cards and is not considered part of any block.
Legends was the first expansion set to be sold in booster packs of 15 cards (previous expansions had been sold in packs of 8). Each pack included a rules card, which explained all the abilities and card types introduced in the set, and also included a few rule clarifications. Legends did not contain basic land.
Also of note - Legends introduced the Elder Dragon Legends; Arcades Sabboth, Chromium, Nicol Bolas, Vaevictis Asmadi, and Palladia-Mors.
