Look for Gemstone Refractors & Holofoil Parallels
A total of 60 cards make up the base set. Most of that features Ross’ mellow landscape paintings. However, several artists offer their own spin on Ross himself with a series of portraits. Keith Shore and longtime Garbage Pail Kids artist Joe Simko are among them.
Parallels make the overall 2023 Cardsmiths Bob Ross checklist much bigger. However, most of them are only available for certain groups of cards. The one-per-pack Rainbow Holofoil and Hyperwave Holofoil (1:2 packs) are full parallel sets of all 60 cards.
The 45 cards featuring Ross’ paintings have five different Gemstone Refractors that combine to fall 1:13 packs:
Gemstone cards all have a shard-like background similar to Panini’s Cracked Ice and Topps Chrome Sapphire cards found primarily in sports.
These same 45 cards also have Cold Foil versions (1:6 packs).
As for the remaining 15 cards of Ross by other artists, these have Artist Refractors (1:48 packs).
The 2023 Cardsmiths Bob Ross checklist has a couple of tough standalone inserts in Culture Shokz (three cards, 1:96 packs) and Multi-Burst (two cards, 1:96 packs).
